We are really pleased to welcome back Emma as the Musical Director of Soundhouse Youth Band. It is of course the training Band she first set up in 2003.
She brings with her a vast amount of musical experience in both teaching (conducts her own primary school brass band ‘Widewell Brass’) and performance, grade 8 in both Trumpet & Piano.
As a classically trained pianist she studied trumpet, piano and conducting with Joseph Horovitz at the Royal College of Music and gained BA(Hons) in Band studies from the University of Sheffield under the tutelage of Arthur Butterworth, Darrol Barry and Richard Evans.
In 2006 with Soundhouse Brass, she won the Best Section player at Bugle Contest and in the same year won the soloist prize at the Exmouth Entertainment Contest.
