Ian Heard - Solo Trombone
Nick Nye - 2nd Trombone
Gwilym Davies - Bass Trombone
Although born in Plymouth, Ian grew up in Exeter where he first played with Lymstone Band. He then spent 10 years in London playing for Crystal Palace Band where he met his wife Emma (Flugel). Supports Exeter FC and enjoys walking his black labrador puppy ‘Archie’.
Nick was a band member of the Royal Marines for a number of years before retiring and joining Soundhouse in 1993.  Employed in a City Centre printing and copying company Nick says that although he has been a member of the band for about 16 years his Straight and Cup Mutes have clearly been around much longer!
Gwilym began learning trombone in Berkshire from the age of 10 and went on to be a member of the County Brass ensemble and the Berkshire Youth Orchestra. At school he studied both GCSE and A level in music and then decided he wanted to continue with a career playing Trombone, so he joined the Royal Marine band Service. In 2009 he finished his training and was drafted to RM Band Plymouth where he is serving to date.
