Simon Badge DipABRSM CertEd RM

Simon is currently serving as a musician in the Royal Marines Band Service. He started Piano lessons at the aged 12 before moving to the Euphonium where achieved a distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 examination. During his time in the Royal Marines, Simon has also achieved an ABRSM Grade 8 distinction on Tuba and the higher qualification of a Diploma ABRSM, also on Tuba. He is also currently working towards a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music.

An inspiring young conductor, Simon has been fortunate to study conducting under the direction of Guy Woolfenden OBE, the professor of conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, and Dr Laszlo Marosi, the principle conductor at the University of Central Florida.

In January 2010, Simon officially took up the challenge of directing a 'new-look' Soundhouse Brass. He has already made a significant impact on the band's sound which has attracted new players from the surrounding area.
