Phil Evans - Bb Bass
Alan has moved around with his work in the banking and financial sector and has played with a number of bands including St Pinnock, Mount Charles, Saltash, Honiton, Sidmouth, Lympstone and Yeovil. He started on Eb bass and is still there. “Better to be master of one instrument than average on several but sadly I'm still average on one” says Alan
Phil started playing the trumpet at the age of 13 progressing to baritone before ending up on BBb bass.  He played with the Saltash Band before joining the Royal British Legion Crownhill band (the previous name for Soundhouse Brass) in 1992.  Phil is an electrician and has 2 children who play with the Soundhouse Youth Band.

­­A proud Yorkshireman, Dave first learnt to play Bass and Trumpet at school  with local wind and concert bands. In 1981 he moved to Torquay where he joined Torbay Brass.
12 years later because of work commitments he moved to Bristol  where he had spells with Bendix Kingswood , Portishead, City of Bristol Band and also the world famous Polysteel (formally Flowers) Band. 
One of his fondest memories  is his final performance with Torbay Brass in 1993 when the Band got to the  National Finals at Wembley and became 2nd Section National Final winners.
