Back Row Cornets

Gary started playing Horn at the tender age of only 7 with The Salvation Army in Barnet. He moved to Torquay at the age of 22 and joined Devon Fire & Rescue Band playing Euphonium. Due to work and family commitments Gary had to give up playing for a few years. In 2003 Gary moved to Plymouth and in November 2006 joined Soundhouse Brass on cornet. Gary is married and is a HGV lorry driver.

Trevor has been a member of the band since 1963 when he moved to Plymouth with his job. Married for over 38 years Trevor has one daughter. He started playing at school in 1952 and joined the local band in Bridgewater before joining the Plymouth Silver Band. Trevor retired in 1994.

Bob started playing brass at the age of 10 with the Isle of Wight Youth Band. In 1972 he moved to Plymouth and joined the, then named, Plymouth Silver Band. A member of the band for approximately 35 years Bob also plus also played with the (now disbanded) Devon & Cornwall Police Band. Bob is a Police Community Support Officer.

Mike started playing the cornet at school and joined his first band, Pangbourne & District Silver Band in the mid 60's. In 1972 he joined the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and between 1976-2002 played flugel and solo cornet in the Police Band. In 2002 the Police Band was axed and a new band consisting of around 80% of the players was started up: Rivieria Concert Brass 'aka' RCB 'aka' Recycled Constabulary Band for which Mike plays flugel horn. Mike also helps out Tiverton Town band and St Breward Town band when they're short/desperate which he says they need to be!
Mike is one of the longest standing members of the band and currently enjoys playing 3rd Cornet for Soundhouse!

Kirsty has recently joined Mum & Dad in the Senior Band after being a member of SoundHouse Youth. She is currently working towards grade 5 Cornet and is a member of Tavistock College Orchestra. She also enjoys playing Keyboards and composing.
